Dewa Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 5, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Dewa (“Dewa,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and discloses information in connection with the Dewa mobile application (the “App”) and the dewaapp.com website (together, the “Service”).

We do not display advertising, we do not sell or rent personal data, and the App does not contain third-party advertising or cross-app tracking SDKs.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Guest use. An account is not required to use the App. For guest users, the App generates a random device identifier. Associated with that identifier, we collect and store: products you scan; your product reactions; routines you create; and any notes or photographs you attach to products on your shelf. This information does not include your name, email address, or other directly identifying information.

1.2 Account information. If you choose to create a user account, we receive and store your name and email address (which may be an Apple private relay address). Signing in associates your device’s shelf data with your account for backup and continuity purposes.

1.3 Profile and social information. Signing in creates a public profile consisting of a handle (derived from your name or randomly generated, and editable), a display name, and an avatar if you upload one. If you use social features, we store your follow relationships, blocks, and any reports you submit, including the contents of those reports.

1.4 Technical information. Our servers automatically record routine technical logs, including IP address, device and operating system information, timestamps, and error data. These logs are maintained for security, reliability, and debugging purposes, are not used for profiling, and are deleted on a rolling basis.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

We do not use personal data for advertising purposes, and we do not track users across third-party apps or websites.

3. Visibility of Your Information to Other Users

If you sign in, other users can locate your profile and follow you. Followers can view your display name, handle, and avatar; the products you have scanned and rated; and your routines. Settings are available to hide your negative review list and your scan activity.

The following are never visible to other users under any settings: your scan photographs and notes attached to products. You may block other users, which renders both accounts mutually invisible, and you may report users or content.

4. Service Providers and Data Storage

We use established infrastructure providers to operate the Service: application servers are hosted on Google Cloud; our database and file storage are provided by Supabase; and scan photographs are analyzed using Google Cloud’s image-recognition service. These providers process data solely to provide their services to us. Scan photographs and private shelf photographs are stored in a private storage bucket that is not publicly accessible. All traffic between the App and our servers is encrypted in transit.

We do not sell, rent, or otherwise disclose personal data to third parties for their own marketing or advertising purposes. We may disclose information where required by law or where necessary to protect the rights, safety, or security of Dewa or its users.

International transfer. The Service is operated from the United States, and data is processed on servers located there. By using the Service from outside the United States, you acknowledge that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

5. Beta Distribution

The App is currently distributed through Apple’s TestFlight program. For beta testers, Apple collects crash logs, usage statistics, and feedback submitted through TestFlight and shares them with us for the purpose of improving the App. Apple’s handling of this information is governed by Apple’s terms and privacy policy.

6. Your Rights

Regardless of your location, you may request access to the personal data we hold about you, and request that it be corrected, exported, or deleted. Certain actions are available directly in the App, as described in Section 7; for all other requests, contact us using the information in Section 10. We honor these rights for all users.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

8. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we become aware that such data has been collected, we will delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted in the App. The effective date above reflects the current version.
